What is UCUES?

The University of California Undergraduate Experience Survey (UCUES) is an omnibus survey of the experience of undergraduate students enrolled at the nine University of California undergraduate campuses. The survey is currently administered by the UC Office of the President, once every two years (e.g., Spring 2014, Spring 2016, Spring 2018).

Survey results are matched with institutional data from campus records to provide insight into the range of experiences that students of different backgrounds report having. For example, the campus climate data available in UCUES can be linked to students' demographic data so as to better understand how experiences of diversity, belonging, and inclusion may vary.

UCUES results are primarily used for administrative purposes (e.g., to evaluate and improve programs and campus initiatives affecting undergraduates).
