• All student instructors teaching Decal courses must have an entry in HRMS as a non-employee—unpaid student affiliate. Procedures on how to enter these student instructors into HRMS can be found at http://hrweb.berkeley.edu/hrms/transnonemployee.htm. Further questions regarding this process can be directed to the HRMS helpdesk, at 3-4443.

  Decal student instructors are entered into CSIR with a function code of 2, teaching but not in charge and a faculty sponsor is added as a second instructor with a function code of 3, in charge but not teaching.

• Room, building, day, and time. These are required data fields for CSIR for all courses except class type FLD, IND, INT and TUT. We are obliged to report annually to the State our usage of general assignment and departmentally controlled classrooms and class laboratories (as these are defined in the FDX). It is clearly in our best interest to avoid under reporting by capturing fully and accurately all scheduled instructional activity.
